Mrs Nalini Padayachee
Mrs Padayachee started her teaching Career in 1981 with unbroken service. She is passionate about education and has left her legacy at all the schools that she taught at. She started teaching at a high school and spent more than 20 years teaching English to Senior pupils particularly grade 11 and 12. She transferred to Melpark Primary School in 2000 as a Deputy Principal. She has been at the helm of the school since 2004.
Under her Leadership the school has grown from strength to strength. The enrollment has grown, and the physical infrastructure and curriculum offering has been improved. She has been able to retain the excellent staff and has employed well qualified and committed teachers.

Mrs Padayachee’s central philosophy of leadership and management is to value people first and foremost. In all her actions she demonstrates respect for and appreciation for the efforts of the staff. She works to encourage staff to be the best they could be in their professional and personal lives. The staff are provided with opportunities for growth and success, and to show off their skills and talents.
It is well known to all who interact with her that her love for children is unquestionable. The children feel free to walk into her office at any time to share with her their joys and their woes. All the children feel special in her company. Pupil welfare is top on the agenda at Melpark Primary. She prides herself on getting to know all the pupils in the school. The many interventions are there to ensure that no child is left behind or forgotten.

Mrs Padayachee’s hands-on approach to leadership is evident in her active involvement in all sport, cultural, social and academic activities of the school. She believes in leading from the front. Quality control of academic work is closely monitored and teachers are developed where the need arises.
Each year she ensures that the school works hard to implement the improvement plans set in motion.
